Dana Regina graduated from The School of Visual Arts in New York City. Although an Illustration alumni, she enjoys many forms of art besides her children's book work. Other areas of interest include sculpture, prop building and model design, graphic design, and sewing. Eventually, she would like to be more involved in stage and costume design. Currently, she is living and working out of Brooklyn, NY. Dana gets her inspiration from... Found objects, happy accidents, freshly opened tubes of gouache, the smell of cut wood, new paint brushes, nature, music, childhood memories, unfufilled fantasies, life... Artists such as Robert Crumb, Kara Walker, Norman Rockwell, Gil Elvgren, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Basquiat, Andy Warhol (and his wigs), Chris Ofili, Andres Serrano, Tim Burton, Robert Mapplethorpe, and many others...
